What’s wrong (and right) with the gig economy?

5th July 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Matthew Harker and Zara Ransley are co-founders of a shared economy start-up called MyPocketSkill.  Here they share some of their experience of working in a still newly-forming market sector.  They outline some of the big issues that we face in dealing with the Gig economy, and open up a wider discussion on how this is impacting on work and employment and some examples of good and bad practice.
  • The Gig economy.  A quick quiz.
  • How do these businesses work?  Why have they been so successful?
  • Are platform businesses taking over the world?
  • Discussion:  what’s the bad press and what are the challenges to growth and sustainability?
  • What are the positives and how does a startup respond to the challenges?

THIS EVENT IS FREE AND YOU CAN RSVP VIA MEETUP
